Letter of Support
SARAH – Belfast Housing Project
The Council of the Rural Municipality of Belfast would like to express its enthusiastic support of the Social Affordable Residence Atlantic Housing (SARAH) plans to help address the need for affordable and senior housing in the Belfast area.
Council noted that the SARAH group has now set its goals on the Belfast area, specifically in the area close to the Lord Selkirk Park – a housing project in this area would be of benefit to the residents in the area and would also compliment the ‘Vision’ and some ‘Actions’ of the Municipal Councils’ recently adopted Strategic Plan:

A vibrant, sustainable rural municipality for all residents and visitors that promotes community engagement, social and economic development, and environmental stewardship
Actions
[6.] Continue to support the efforts of organizations, businesses and individuals that contribute to the sustainability and growth of the Rural Municipality (e.g., letters of support, sharing knowledge)
[12.] Support social and economic development

With that, we strongly support SARAH in its plans to help address the need for affordable and senior housing in the Belfast area.
