Hazardous Pinette boat launch fixed by Josh Lewis

A boat slip in Pinette which was left in a dangerous state after previous work by the province has now been fixed again in the hope of making it safer to launch and retrieve boats.

Department of Transportation and Infrastructure staff removed armour stone from one side of the slip and more rocks at the end of it, which were submerged at high tide, creating a hazard. Work on the site took place November 16 and 17 at a cost of about $4,000.

Lynn Docherty, deputy mayor of the Rural Municipality of Belfast, had prodded the province to take action because the previous work done to the slip over the winter of 2021-22 created multiple problems.
